These Lasagna Stuffed Shells couldn't be easier to put together. Fill with all your classic lasagna ingredients and then baked. It's the perfect family dinner.

Lasagna Stuffed Shells in a casserole dish

I love stuffed shells! It's such a classic recipe. This time I stuffed it with my husbands favorite thing, lasagna. This recipe was a winner in my house and one I think you are going to love.

How to make Lasagna Stuffed Shells:

Step one: Get started with this recipe by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Next prepare a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

Step two: Next cook your jumbo pasta shells according to directions until cooked to al dente. Drain and then rinse with cold water and set aside.

    • Tip: Since you will be stuffing then baking these make sure to not over cook your pasta.

Step three: In a  skillet heat your oil then saute onions. Then add ground beef and cook and crumble until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper then drain.

    • Tip: I used olive oil but any oil will work.

Step four: Now mix your ricotta cheese with 1 ½ cup mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, and Italian seasoning.

    • Combine cheese mixture with ground beef for filling.

    • To your preprared casserole dish add ¾ cup of spaghetti sauce. Spoon in filling into each shell and place them into a casserole dish. Top with remaining spaghetti sauce and shredded mozzarella.

Can cottage cheese be substituted for the ricotta cheese?

This was delicious! We made it exactly as called for in the recipe, with the exception of substituting onion powder for onion pieces. Our picky family loved it!

Hey, if you have picky eaters and you found something they will all eat and enjoy, that makes me super happy!

Yup! You definitely can freeze them. I would recommend not baking the item until you are ready to eat.
