Fudge is a perfect bite-size dessert.

It can be made pretty quickly, and it satisfies all the chocolate and sweet cravings you may have. Rich and "fudgy" this Microwave Fudge is a great quick and easy dessert to make.

Yes, I did call this fudge "fudgy." 😂

    How to make Microwave Fudge:

Place all your ingredients in a large microwave safe bowl. Mix them up a bit, and then microwave on 30 second intervals.

This will allow you to stir in between to get even melting and mixing. It will also allow you to make sure nothing is burning.

Cooking in the microwave is fast, but too fast with little supervision will result in burned fudge, that will not be good.

    Ingredients:

    • Semisweet Chocolate Chips
    • Sweetened Condensed Milk
    • Butter

    ingredients for microwave fudge.

    Directions:

Step One - Prepare a pan with parchment paper making sure to leave some overhang.

Step Two - Place Semisweet chocolate chips, Sweetened condensed milk, and butter into a microwave safe bowl.

adding the ingredients to a microwave safe bowl.

Step Two continued - Cook for 30 seconds at a time stopping and mixing then returning it to the microwave until melted and creamy.

mixing the ingredients for the fudge together.

Step Three - Pour melted chocolate mixture into your prepared pan. Place into the fridge to chill for 1-2 hours or until fudge is set and completely hardened.

Step Four - Use the parchment overhang to lift out fudge and slice into squares and serve.

    How to store fudge:

Fudge is best stored in an airtight container, layered with parchment paper if you have to stack it.

I prefer to keep my fudge in the refrigerator, as leaving it on the counter softens it up. If you like a softer fudge, you can leave it on the counter.

Fudge either way should last about 7-10 days. You will probably eat the fudge faster than that time frame though.

Can I make this on the stovetop?

You could use the stovetop, but I took the easy way out and just popped it in the microwave for a few seconds.

If you are making this on the stovetop the directions wouldn't change at all.

All you would change is mixing and melting in a saucepan, not a microwave-safe bowl.

    Tips for Melting Chocolate

Melting chocolate can be a little tricky so it's important to use higher quality chocolate.

I bought chocolate chips for this recipe but you could also use a chocolate baking bar that was made for baking and melting.

I placed them in microwave-safe bowls and only heated for 30 seconds at a time and mixed. It only took about 1 minute each to be completely melted and smooth.
