Hearty Slow Cooker Recipe

I personally love these types of recipes because the directions are pretty simple. Dump it in the slow cooker and come back when it’s time for dinner.

These flavors will combine nicely in the long cook time that the slow cooker requires. It will be so tasty, you will want to try it in many different ways!

Ingredients:

  • Italian Sausages
  • Chicken Tenders
  • Bell Peppers (sliced)
  • Yellow Onion (sliced)
  • Marinara Sauce

Directions

Step 1: Place all ingredients in the slow cooker – chicken tenders than the sausages on top. Put the veggies on top of the sausages, then cover with the Marinara sauce.

Step 2: Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 5-6 hours. Make sure to check the internal temperature of the chicken if unsure.

Step 3: Slice sausages (if needed). Then serve.

Ways to serve chicken and sausage with peppers:

The traditional way to serve this meal would be to prepare rice or pasta and serve this mixture on top of either of those.

Another fun way would be to not slice your sausages and serve the meal on a sliced Hoagie roll. Dish a Sausage then some chicken and veggies on top of the sausage. Place a piece of Provolone or Swiss cheese on top.
