An easy breakfast or a healthy snack this Strawberry Banana Smoothie is perfect for either. Two of my favorite fruits blended up in one. This is a classic smoothie, and my husband will sometimes add his protein powder to it!
My kids are big smoothie fans. Even though my youngest hides in his room because the blender is too loud, he still loves it when the blender is off, and he can drink one!
This smoothie is really simple to make just 5 simple ingredients you have a simple breakfast or healthy snack.
I love smoothies for breakfast because I can drink them in the car on the way out! Some mornings sitting down for breakfast just doesn’t happen!
How to make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie:
Smoothies may be the easiest breakfast or snack to make. Just 5 ingredients are needed to make this smoothie.
Literally, just put all your ingredients into your blender and then blend. Blend to your desired consistency, adding more milk if you want a smoother smoothie.
Ingredients:
- Frozen Strawberries: You want them to be frozen to help with the texture. If you use fresh I would also use ice.
- Banana: peeled.
- Milk: I use skim milk but you can use any you have or even use almond or oat milk.
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- Honey
Directions:
Step One – Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Cold Smoothie Tip:
Freeze your banana slices for about an hour before making the smoothie. If you don’t have time to freeze the bananas replace with ice cubes when blending. The frozen bananas or ice cubes will make the smoothie colder.
Add more milk as needed if you want a smoother consistency.
This smoothie is a great healthy breakfast or snack:
- This recipe is super easy to make! With only five ingredients needed all you have to do is add everything in a blender and blend it all up! Once it is smooth enjoy!
- You can use fresh strawberries if you want! Fresh strawberries are nice, and a tad easier to blend. You may need to add a little extra honey for some added sweetness though.
- Enjoy any time of year! With using frozen fruit, you can enjoy this smoothie whenever!
What can you add to smoothies?
Smoothies are a great way to get your kids to eat their daily fruits and veggies! Here are some great additions to smoothies that even the pickiest eaters won’t catch.
- Add some spinach or kale to the smoothie. The vitamins and nutrients from these are great for you and your kids. They are not strong so the flavors will not be noticeable in the smoothie.
- Peanut Butter. Add some creamy peanut butter or peanut butter powder for some added protein!
- More Fruit. Add in some raspberries or blueberries for the added antioxidants and nutrients.
