Sweet Breakfast Pinwheels on a baking sheet

These Sweet Breakfast Pinwheels are simple to make and one of my favorite sweet breakfast recipes.

How to make Sweet Breakfast Pinwheels:

Step one: Get started by preheating your oven to 400 degrees F. Then go ahead and prepare your baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper.

dough placed on the countertop

Step two: To prepare your dough start by whisking together pancake mix and milk. Once a dough has formed place dough on a hard surface to knead. Sprinkle extra pancake mix on surface as needed to keep the dough from sticking.

  • Tip: If dough is sticking to your hands you can also dip your hands in dry pancake mix to help it not stick. Don’t shy away and keep working your dough until it is no longer sticky.

Step three: Next knead the dough for about 3-4 minutes then roll out into a rectangle.

Step four: Once you have a rectangle carefully spread soften butter onto dough. Then sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.

Step five: Then roll up your dough like in the picture above and seal the edge. Slice dough into 3/4 inch slices and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step six: Right before baking brush each pinwheel with melted butter. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
