Ingredient Notes:

  • Chicken Breast – Boneless, skinless chicken breasts work perfectly in this casserole. If they’re very thick, pound them to an even thickness so they cook evenly.
  • Cream of Chicken Soup – This creates a rich, creamy sauce that keeps the chicken moist while it bakes.
  • Chicken Broth – helps keep the stuffing and chicken moist.
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Swiss Cheese – Swiss cheese gives this casserole its signature creamy, slightly nutty flavor. If you prefer, provolone or mozzarella can be substituted.
  • Chicken Stuffing Mix – A boxed stuffing mix creates an easy, buttery topping with plenty of flavor and texture.
  • Butter – Mixing melted butter with the stuffing helps it bake into a perfectly crisp, golden topping.
