Perfect for Busy Weeknights
This recipe only takes a few minutes to prepare before the slow cooker does the rest of the work. It is a great option for days when you know the evening will be busy.

ingredients for the Slow Cooker Creamy Ranch and Pork Chops.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Boneless Pork Chops – Boneless pork chops work well because they are easy to serve and cook evenly. Choose chops that are similar in thickness so they finish cooking at the same time.
  • Potatoes – Cut larger potatoes in half or into smaller pieces so they become tender before the pork is overcooked.
  • Fresh Green Beans – I love using fresh green beans, but frozen will work as well.
  • Cream of chicken soup – The condensed soup creates the base of the creamy sauce and helps keep the pork chops moist while they cook.
  • Milk
  • Seasoning – I used garlic powder, ranch seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Tips for Best Results

  • Cut potatoes into small, even pieces. This helps them cook at the same rate as the pork, so nothing ends up underdone.
  • Skip the thin-cut pork chops. Thinner chops dry out over a long cook time, so stick with thicker ones for the juiciest results.
  • Check the pork chops early if cooking on High. Every slow cooker runs a little differently, so start checking a bit before the recipe time to avoid overcooking.

FAQs

Can I use thinly sliced potatoes?

Yes. Thinly sliced potatoes cook faster and are a good option when cooking the pork chops on High. Arrange them in an even layer so they cook consistently.

Can I cook these pork chops on High?

Yes. Cook them on High for approximately 2½–3½ hours, checking early to avoid overcooking. The exact time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops and how hot your slow cooker runs. I prefer to cook them on low since cooking them on high I found lead them to being dry.

How do I keep pork chops from drying out in the slow cooker?

Use thicker pork chops, avoid cooking them longer than necessary, and check their internal temperature early. Boneless chops can dry out quickly once they are overcooked.

Can I use frozen pork chops?

It is best to thaw the pork chops before placing them in the slow cooker so they cook evenly and reach a safe temperature within the proper amount of time.

How do I know when the pork chops are done?

Pork is safely cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F followed by a short rest. Use a meat thermometer to prevent the pork from overcooking.

Can I prepare this recipe ahead of time?

Yes. You can mix the sauce and prepare the potatoes ahead of time. Store everything separately in the refrigerator, then assemble it in the slow cooker when you are ready to cook.

Notes

Storage and Reheating
Refrigerator
Store leftover pork chops, potatoes, and sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
Freezer
You can freeze the cooked pork chops and sauce for up to 2 months. The potatoes may have a softer or slightly grainy texture after thawing, so you may prefer to freeze the pork separately.
Reheating
Reheat leftovers in the microwave in short intervals until warmed through. You can also warm them in a covered skillet over low heat. Add a splash of chicken broth or milk if the sauce has thickened in the refrigerator.

  1. This was SO good. I wasn’t real sure what to expect because I don’t tend to care so much for dishes made with prepared soups. I kind of halved the recipe since there are just two of us. I say ‘kind of’ because I used 1/2 of the potatoes and pork that was called for, but everything else I kept the same. I used fresh green beans. I did S and P and brown the chops first. Opted for low setting because I feel that most slow cooker recipes turn out best on low. Oh, I cubed my potatoes instead of slicing. We had a good bit of potatoes, beans and sauce leftover. I reheated those and used as a side for another dish another night. Really, really good and I will be making again. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. This recipe was so good! I seasoned the chops first & seared them. Then, added a few more spices. Didn’t change anything else. It was a huge hit! All the kids loved it. Thanks for a great recipe!

  3. This recipe looks yummy! One question- when adding to the slow cooker, do you layer the pork, potatoes, and green beans (bottom, middle, top), or put them side by side in sections?

        1. I use either red potatoes or russet. Anything you like or have on hand works. And yes you can use broccoli instead.

  4. My kids loved this. My 6 yr old licked the plate and told me it was a 10. My 2 year old was the first one done! Thank you!
