How to make Baked Sloppy Joes:

Baked Sloppy Joes are a great way to make the classic Sloppy Joe sandwich, but easier to eat and clean up! Another name for these would be Sloppy Joe Meat Pies.

Yes, these are handheld sloppy joes, that aren’t dripping all over you! You will definitely love this new and cleaner way to make and eat Sloppy Joes!

Directions:

Step One: Preheat oven to what your biscuit dough instructions have called for. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

Step Two: Cook and crumble ground turkey. Drain fat then return back to the stove top. Add in diced onions. Allow to cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step Three: Add to your turkey the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, and brown sugar. Mix well then add cornstarch. Allow cooking again for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
Step Four: Flatten out each biscuit then add a spoon full of your sloppy Joe mix in. Fold over and press to seal with a fork. Place on your prepared baking sheet and repeat.

Step Five: Spray the tops of your biscuits with the cooking spray then bake. Bake according to your package instructions. Mine took about 10-13 minutes. Once baked serve and enjoy.

Can I use store bought Sloppy Joe mix for this recipe?

So you are in a hurry and you want to make these Sloppy Joes! You have your biscuits and want to save some time from cooking the meat or you don’t have all the ingredients, then yes!

Buy yourself a can of Manwich Sauce or your favorite sloppy Joe mix! Cook your meat and add the sauce according to the cans directions and you will be on your way to making some great meat pies!

Cooking Tip:

If you think your sauce is to thin try  adding cornstarch to this recipe to get a thicker it.

This could help it stay in the biscuit better and will not leak out during baking. I also use a fork to press and seal both sides of the biscuit. Make sure not to overfill!
