This easy to make Banana Bread recipe will have you and your family starting off the morning right. With a nice hearty breakfast to start the day, this bread is the perfect thing to eat in the morning.

    Banana Bread

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A hearty breakfast is great in helping the day get started right. This Banana Bread is thick and moist. Serve it with bacon and eggs or by itself with some butter.

This recipe is easy to make, and very little ingredients are needed to make it. Most of the ingredients you probably have in the pantry already!

    How to make Banana Bread:

Mix your wet ingredients and your dry ingredients separately. Mix your ingredients together to make the batter. Fill your bread pan and bake. Pull from oven and allow to cool on a bread rack. Slice and butter to enjoy!

    Ingredients:

    • Bananas - Make sure they are ripe, and even brown. Those are the best bananas to use for banana bread.
    • Butter - melted
    • Sugar
    • Egg
    • Vanilla Extract
    • All-Purpose Flour
    • Baking Soda
    • Salt

    ingredients for banana bread

    Directions:

Step One - Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 4x8 loaf pan lightly with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
Step Two - Peel and mash bananas then add to a stand mixer (or a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer). Add in butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix together.

Step Three - In a separate bowl mix or whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

    mixing dry ingredients together

Step Three continued - Add this to wet ingredients and whisk together until well combined but do not over mix.

Step Four - Pour batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until cooked through. Allow cooling slightly before removing from pan and serving.

How to store banana bread and keep it moist:

Banana bread is a bread that can dry out pretty quickly if not eaten soon. The best way to store banana bread I have found is to wrap it in plastic wrap once it has fully cooled. The plastic wrap will help protect air from getting to the bread. You can also store it in an airtight container too. This bread should last up to 7 days.

    Can you freeze banana bread?

Yup you sure can freeze this! Freezing this bread will keep it for about 3 months. Once the bread is baked allow it to fully cool and then wrap it in plastic wrap tightly. Wrap it tightly in aluminum foil and then store in the freezer. When ready to eat remove from the freezer and unwrap. Let it thaw on the counter covered with a towel for about 24 hours.

Try some of my other banana recipes:

With three growing boys we always have bananas in the house. I always have some getting too ripe so I make banana bread, muffins and smoothies often! Try some of these other banana recipes I have!

Banana Nut Bread - This recipe is moist throughout and bakes perfectly. It's great for breakfast or brunch! It is sweetened with bananas and the pecans give it an awesome nutty flavor. This will become a favorite in your household.

Banana Nut Muffins - These Banana Nut Muffins are made with my classic Banana Bread recipe and perfect for breakfast or snack time. Made with ripened bananas and pecans this is the best banana nut muffin recipe you will ever make!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie - An easy breakfast or a healthy snack this Strawberry Banana Smoothie is perfect for either. Two of my favorite fruits blended up in one. This is a classic smoothie, and my husband will sometimes add his protein powder to it!
