This Christmas Popcorn is the perfect Christmas treat. We serve it every year during our Christmas movie night and it's a favorite with the entire family. Popcorn coverd in melted marshmallows with holiday M&M's make for the best treat!

One of my favorite parts about Christmas is movie night! We have Christmas movie night a few times a week doing the holiday season and we love having Christmas treats to go with them!

This Christmas Popcorn is one of my favorites. It's simple to make and taste amazing. I loaded mine with Christmas colored M&Ms but you can top it with any candy or sprinkles!

    How to Make Christmas Popcorn:

Christmas popcorn can be made very different ways. This is our favorite way to make it, mostly cause my kids are obsessed with marshmallows.

They sneak more marshmallows when we make this recipe than they do the M&M's.

This is a very easy recipe to make. Melt your marshmallows, then pour over your popcorn.

Spread out on a baking sheet quickly, and add your M&M's so they stick to the marshmallows. Enjoy!

    Ingredients:

    • Popped Popcorn - make sure the uncooked popcorn kernels don't accidentally get mixed in on your baking sheet.
    • Unsalted Butter
    • Mini Marshmallows
    • Mini Christmas colored M&M candies

    Directions:

Step one: Start by preparing a baking sheet with some parchment paper. Your popcorn will be pretty sticky and need some time to dry. If you let it dry in the bowl you may end up with one big popcorn ball.

Step two: Place popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl.

    • Tip: Clear out any unpopped kernels. Noone needs a trip to the dentist biting into a popcorn kernel!

Step three: Next melt your butter in a saucepan and once melted add in mini marshmallows and melt making sure to stir constantly.

Step four: Once melted pour over popcorn and gently mix. Do this as quickly as possible without breaking the popcorn.

Step four: Once your popcorn is coated add it to your prepared baking sheet and sprinkle on M&Ms. Allow cooling then break popcorn into pieces and enjoy.

Best Popcorn to use for this recipe:

Popcorn has such a good salty and buttery flavor that it mixes so well with the melted chocolate candies. It is so light and tasty that you can't go wrong with whatever kind of popcorn you love!

    1. Microwave - One of the easiest options. This is what I used and I used a nice movie theater butter popcorn. Use any kind of popcorn you like. After you are done microwaving it, try your best to separate as many if not all of the non-popped kernels.
    2. Store Bought - You can also buy a bag of popcorn from the store. I have a tendency not to do this, as I love my popcorn to be fresh for this recipe. Bagged Popcorn may have been sitting on the shelf for a long time and lacks the freshness of microwave or homemade popcorn.
    3. Stovetop - If you are like my sister, you love popcorn and have an actual popcorn machine in your house! While I do love popcorn, but not to that level, stovetop popcorn is also a great option. Just don't burn it!

Try some of my other Holiday themed Popcorn recipes:

White Chocolate Easter Popcorn - All you need is three simple ingredients to make this White Chocolate Easter Popcorn. It's the perfect treat for your Easter celebrations.

Valentine's Day Popcorn - The perfect treat to celebrate your love. This Valentine's Day Popcornis my kid's favorite treat! It's so easy to make and the perfect treat for a family movie night this time of year.

Pumpkin Spice Popcorn - You are going to want to try this yummy Pumpkin Spice Popcorn! Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks and adding two of my favorite flavors to it really makes it special. White Chocolate and Pumpkin Pie Spice make this an especially sweet and savory treat. Enjoy!
