One of the best ways to make ribs! These Crock Pot Ribs are actually fall off the bone tender and full of flavor.
If there is a way, I can make it in the slow cooker I will try it! This past summer my husband had been grilling up a storm! One of my favorites was the ribs he grilled, and I bought more at the store the very next week.
Thunderstorms ruined my plans and so into the slow cooker they went. The ribs in the crock pot turned out amazing!
They are so tender they actually fall off right the bone. If you love slow cooker recipes as much as I do, then make sure to check out my other ones next.

How to make Slow Cooker Ribs:
Making ribs can be a tedious recipe to make. Whether in a smoker or on a grill, the saying cook them low and slow applies to any method you cook ribs.
So that is why I have come up with the perfect recipe for slow cooker ribs! Mix your spices together and rub down your ribs. Smother your ribs in BBQ Sauce, then cook them low and slow! Baby back ribs in the slow cooker may be the easiest way to ever make ribs!
Ingredient Notes:
- Pork Ribs
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Brown Sugar
- Chili Powder
- Paprika
- BBQ Sauce
Directions:
Step One – Start by mixing together all your seasonings then rub ribs with this seasoning mix.
Step Two – Brush and smother your ribs with your BBQ Sauce.
Step Three – Place ribs in the slow cooker with the fatty part touching the outside on the slow cooker.
How long to cook Crock Pot Ribs:
Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 7-8 hours or until your pork is cooked through and tender.
Remember that every slow cooker is different and can cook things differently.
Make sure to check the temperature of your meat before serving.
How do you know if the ribs are done?
When cooking ribs or any meat with a bone in it, you want to make sure the meat “almost” falls off the bone.
It is possible to overcook ribs, and while you can cook them on high in the slow cooker, I recommend cooking them on low for 6-7 hours.
If the meat is literally falling off the bones, it has more than likely been overcooked. You want the meat to come off with light pressure.
The best placement for ribs in a slow cooker:
You can do a couple of different options. You can curl the ribs along the walls of the slow cooker.
If your ribs are too long, you can slice them and stack them in your slow cooker as well.

I have beef ribs that i want to share with the dog when they are cooked. she can’t have barbecue sauce because anything with tomatoes is bad for dogs. I saw apple cider vinegar mentioned and also root beer and another recipe that said some liquid is needed in the crock pot to get tender meat. The A.C vinegar sounds very bitter but the root beer could be too sweet with the brown sugar in the rub. I also considered trying beef stock or water with beef bouillon. what do you think?
This looks so good! I love crock pot recipes too. Thanks SO much for sharing at the Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop!
