Growing up outside of Cincinnati Chili Dogs are a staple to the menus there. I love a good Hot Dog Chili and growing up we ate Cincinnati Chili all the time.

Cincinnati Chili is great on hot dogs, but it is a tad bit runny. This Hot Dog Chili recipe is perfect for a thicker chili for topping hot dogs.

How to make Hot Dog Chili:

Hot Dog Chili is very easy to make. You start by cooking your ground beef and then adding in the tomato sauce.

Add in your spices, ketchup and Worcestershire and cook it until it thickens up.

Serve hot on top of hot dogs. Load it up with some cheddar cheese and enjoy.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Ground Beef
  • Water
  • Tomato Sauce and Ketchup
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Seasoning: Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Salt

How to properly serve Hot Dog Chili:

First, you want to serve it hot, and you want your hot dogs to be cooked and ready at the same time. Take the hot dog in a bun and load as much chili as you want on them. Yes, this meal is supposed to be messy.

Second, on top of the chili top with diced onions and shredded cheddar cheese. The more onions and cheese the better in my opinion.

  1. I always boil the hb meat in water and ketchup and that gives it a good texture. It takes longer to cook but I found it to be pretty darn good. My husband loves it.
