During the summer we grill out a lot. I serve a lot of chips and sliced veggies with our burgers and hot dogs.

So instead of a typical Ranch Dip or French Onion Dip for the chips, I made this Dill Dip.

Creamy and flavorful this is a simple dip everyone will love. If you want a more “loaded” dip, try my Loaded Ranch Dip.

How to make Dill Dip:

This dip is super simple to make. Mix your sour cream and mayo together first just to blend them together well.

Gather your spices and them add them to the dip and mix well. Chill for a couple hours to allow it to set and get cold. Prepare whatever it is you choose to use as a dipper and serve!

Ingredients Notes:

  • Sour Cream
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dried Dill Weed
  • Onion Powder
  • Dried Parsley
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt

Directions:

Step One – Place on your ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix together well.

Step Two – Place dill dip in the fridge to chill 1-2 hours before serving.

Step Three – Serve with sliced veggies or chips.

Can I use fresh herbs with this recipe?

Typically, when making this dip or any dip you want to use dried spices and herbs.

Dried spices and herbs have a stronger more concentrated taste and flavor.

Fresh herbs typically require more to be used to get the right flavor.

Remember when you mix the herbs together you have to let the dip set in the refrigerator, so everything comes together nicely.

What goes well with Dill Dip?

This dip goes great with some potato chips or sliced veggies. I will slice up bell peppers, cucumbers and celery to serve with this dip.

Cherry tomatoes and baby carrots are great as well! Any fresh vegetable really will work with this dip!

My kids also like crackers with this dip. A wheat thin or Ritz cracker is great. You can also serve chunks of bread.

Or for a more fun way to serve the dip, hollow out a larger loaf of bread and use that as the serving dish.
