Easy Classic Coleslaw
I love coleslaw, it’s a great side dish and a must have for summer time. Anything that we put on the grill tastes better with a side dish of homemade coleslaw. During the summer I make it often and this recipe is my favorite. It’s really simple to make and taste amazing.
What do you need for Coleslaw:
- Coleslaw mix
How to make Easy Classic Coleslaw:
This recipe is so simple to make. I did use pre-cut cabbage mix but you could also cut your own. If you do just use the same about that was used with pre-cut.
Step one: Whisk you mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar together.
Step two: When everything is mix together and your sugar is dissolved then add in coleslaw mix and mix until coleslaw is well coated.
Step three: Last in the fridge and allow to chill for an hour before serving. This step is optional. You don’t have to place it in the fridge to chill but I like it helps the flavors to enhance while it sits.
What to serve with Coleslaw:
- Baked Chicken Wings
- Honey BBQ Chicken Tenders
- Slow Cooker Ribs
- Ground Turkey Sloppy Joes
- Grilled BBQ Ranch Chicken
How long can coleslaw be in the fridge:
This coleslaw can sit in the fridge for up to 4 days and be ready to serve. The coleslaw can get soggy while sitting for a long time and is best served after chilling for an hour in the fridge. If you are making this ahead of time just drain any extra water in as needed then serve.
Even more summer side dish recipes:

- 28 oz coleslaw mix
Whisked together mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar. Once well-combined add in coleslaw mix and mix until coleslaw is well coated.
Place in the fridge and allow to chill for an hour before serving.
