I have heard of Orange Fluff Salad a lot, especially where I live. I had never tried it until recently, and I knew I needed to share it with you all!

I love a “salad” made with cool whip and Jell-O. This is a super tasty treat, and it is super easy to make! My kids thought this Orange Fluff tasted just like an Orange Creamsicle!

How to make Orange Fluff:

Orange Fluff is very easy to make. Literally all you need to do is mix your ingredients together and serve. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl, and then chill until ready to serve.

You can make this in less than 10 minutes, and it is a perfect springtime treat!

ingredients for the Orange Fluff.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Cottage Cheese – Yes, this is the secret ingredient! I used small curd cottage cheese for this recipe.
  • Orange Jell-O Powder – You do not need to make the Jell-O; we are mixing the powder into the recipe.
  • Mandarin Oranges – Make sure you drain them well. You do not want the extra juice in the Fluff.
  • Cool Whip
  • Mini Marshmallows

Directions:

Step One – Combine cottage cheese and Jell-o powder mix.

cottage cheese mixed with the Jell-O mix.

Step Two – Add well-drained mandarin oranges and cool whip and mix to combine.

Recipe Tip

Pat the oranges dry if needed to ensure any extra liquid is not added to the fluff

Alternate options for Orange Fluff:

  1. Raspberry Fluff – Change out the orange Jell-o and Mandarin Oranges for Raspberry Jell-o and fresh raspberries.
  2. Strawberry Fluff – Same thing here. change out the orange for Strawberry Jell-o and fresh strawberry slices.
  3. Pineapple Fluff – And again, change out for Pineapple Jell-o and pineapple chunks.

How long can you keep Fluff?

Typically, this type of “salad” needs to be eaten pretty quickly. Ideally, you want to only keep this refrigerated for about 3 days. After 3 days, I would recommend discarding it. If it gets watery drain the extra liquid before serving.

Recipe Tip

One way to help extend this salad is to make sure your mandarin oranges are patted dry with paper towels to remove any excess liquid. You do not want to bring any excess liquid to this party!
