The perfect summer drink recipe! This Strawberry Lemonade is what I will be sipping on poolside all year long.

Fresh squeezed lemons and a strawberry simple syrup mixture make this lemonade the perfect drink for all summer long. This is an upgrade on my classic homemade Lemonade recipe.

How to make Strawberry Lemonade:

You want to start by making your simple syrup. Heat the water and sugar up to a rolling boil until it makes a syrup. Squeeze your lemons to get the juice. Blend your strawberries to make the syrup. Mix everything together over ice and enjoy!

Ingredient Notes:

  • Water
  • Fresh Strawberries: Fresh work best for this recipe but you can use frozen and thaw them.
  • Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice – You’ll need about 6 lemons.

Is Strawberry Lemonade the same as pink lemonade?

Pink lemonade is just that, lemonade that has been dyed pink.

Sometimes when making homemade pink lemonade you can use cranberry juice for coloring.

This strawberry lemonade is pink but it’s not the same as pink lemonade.

How many lemons do I need for Homemade Strawberry Lemonade:

On average 6-8 lemons can give you 1 cup of lemon juice. For this recipe I used just over a cup of lemon juice. I would suggest buying 10 lemons to be on the safe side. Any leftover you can use to garnish your drink.

How do I squeeze and juice a Lemon:

Before cutting your lemon start by rolling it on the countertop. This will help you get the most juice out of your lemon.

If you want, you could even microwave your lemon for just 10-20 seconds before juicing to make sure you are getting the most juice.

Next cut your lemon in half long ways. Use a small strainer to catch any seeds with a bowl under it for the juice. Squeeze your lemon with your hands or tongs. You could also use a manual or even electric juicer if you have one.

What is a freckled lemonade?

Freckled lemonade is one of my favorite drinks from Red Robin. It’s “freckled” from all the strawberry seeds.

I love this drink and love Red Robin but since we don’t have one in my town, I made my own version and it’s pretty close in taste!
