I love taco recipes! I make a taco-style recipe at least once a week and love adding my homemade taco seasoning.
This Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning is made with simple seasonings you probably already have in your pantry.
Taco Tuesday More like tacos every day at my house!
I am not kidding when I say that I could eat taco flavored something every day. This Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning makes it even easier for me to do so! I
love the real taste it has and I make a larger serving to last me through several recipes. The best thing is, you probably already have most of these ingredients in your pantry!
Uses for homemade taco seasoning
This homemade seasoning is wonderful! It can be used on your favorite meat or even tofu!
Season your veggies for fajitas, flavor chicken tortilla soup, or of course the ground beef for your taco night!
This seasoning is a staple for all kitchens, and making it yourself is so much more satisfying than buying it at a store. You can use this in a variety of different meals, so make a double batch. You will love it!
Ingredient Notes
- Cumin
- Chili Powder
- Garlic (I used dried minced, but garlic powder would also work)
- Onion Powder
- Paprika
- Salt
- Pepper
Making Taco Seasoning:
Making taco season is really easy.
It is a one step process! Just add all of the seasonings to a small mixing bowl and whisk together with a fork to combine them all.
That is it! This recipe makes about 18 servings at about 1 tablespoon per serving.
Storing Taco Seasoning:
To store this you want to place it in an airtight container and in your pantry.
I recommend keeping the seasoning mix for around 6 months.
Once thing to keep in mind with spices and seasoning is that they typically do not “go bad.”
Spices typically can last anywhere from 1-3 years, but I recommend remixing a new batch every 6 months.
Spicing up your taco seasoning:
If you like a little more heat in your taco seasoning add some crushed red pepper flakes.
This will definitely spice up your taco seasoning.
There are also different levels of heat in chili powder that can add more heat. For a slightly different flavor try adding some cajun seasoning to it as well.
Here are a few of my favorite taco recipes that I use this seasoning for:
