5 Ingredients and less then 30 minutes to make thisĀ Pepperoni Pizza CasseroleĀ this is a recipe that you will love just as much as the kids do. It's simple and easy and a real crowd pleaser.Ā

Pepperoni Pizza Casserole in large casserole dish.

Feeding littles ones isn't always easy. I think my boys are pretty good eaters, but they can be picky about some things.

Pizza is usually a go to winner for a lot of kids, so this casserole was my attempt at making a pizza inspired dish the kids will love.

My oldest who doesn't like pizza actually ended up loving thisĀ Pepperoni Pizza Casserole!

    How to make Pizza Casserole:

This recipe is very easy to make and can be made in less than 30 minutes.

I wanted to make a pasta dish and the kids wanted pizza, so here we are!

I cooked rotini noodles, then added Pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce.

Yes, a little different of a flavor, but that's what makes this a Pizza casserole.

    Ingredients:

    • Rotini - other pasta types would work like penne or bowtie pasta.
    • Pizza Sauce - I bought a jar of pizza sauce but you can make your own or even use marinara sauce.
    • Pepperoni - the pepperoni inside the casserole is diced and I leave some whole for the top. I find dicing it for inside make it easier to serve and eat.
    • Cheese - shredded Mozzarella Cheese
    • Seasoning - I just used dried Oregano but you can add more seasoning to taste.

    ingredients for pizza casserole.

    Directions:

Step one: Start by getting your oven ready. Preheat and then prepare a casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside.Ā

Step two: Now prepare your pasta.

Cook it pasta according to package directions then drain them and return them back to your pot.

cooking the rotini noodles in a large pot.

Step three: Now add in pizza sauce, diced pepperoni, and 1 ½ cup mozzarella cheese. Mix then pour into a casserole dish.

adding the remaining ingredients to the large pot.

Step four: Add the remaining cup of cheese to the top of your casserole.

Then add whole pepperoni slices and sprinkle with oregano.

pepperoni pizza casserole spread out in casserole dish.

Step five: Bake until cheese is melted. Remove from oven serve to enjoy.

    Cooking Tip:

For this recipe, I diced some of my pepperonis and kept some whole.

We find that it's easier to eat when the pepperoni that is mixed into the casserole dish is bite-size which is why we cut them.

You could also try mini pepperonis if you don't want to spend time dicing.

    How to store this casserole:

Casserole needs to be stored in the refrigerator once baked.

Transfer it into an air-tight container or keep it in the casserole dish and cover it with plastic wrap.

It will last in the refrigerator for about 7 to 10 days.

    Can you freeze this casserole:

Prep: Yes, you can freeze pizza casserole. Follow the directions and make the casserole as instructed. Once the casserole is done, allow it too fully cool.

Freeze: I find it best to cook it in one of my casserole dishes that have a lid. Once the dish is cool, put the lid on it and freeze in the freezer. It will last up to 3 months in the freezer.

Reheat: To reheat, allow the casserole to thaw for at least 12 hours before baking.

You want the casserole to be thawed and you do not want to put the frozen casserole dish straight into the oven.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and the bake for 10-15 minutes until it is warmed throughout.

Top with more mozzarella cheese before baking if you wish.

Try some of my other favorite casseroles:

Crack Chicken Casserole - ThisĀ Crack Chicken CasseroleĀ is made with shredded hashbrown potatoes, bacon, and ranch seasoning.Ā

Chicken and Rice Casserole - This simpleĀ Chicken and Rice CasseroleĀ only take a few ingredients and it bakes in 15 minutes or less.Ā

Sloppy Joe Casserole - A childhood favorite done a new way! ThisĀ Sloppy Joe CasseroleĀ is a family favorite you are going to want to try.Ā

Can you assemble this ahead of time and not bake until later? Seems like it’d be fine.
