We love pizza around here! One of my favorites is French bread pizza and love changing it up with non-traditional pizza like this Sloppy Joe French Bread Pizza. It’s loaded with seasoned ground beef and topped with shredded cheese.

Sloppy Joe French Bread Pizza

Sloppy Joe’s was always one of my favorites as a kid. It never failed every time we ate Sloppy Joe’s growing up my dad had to tell his childhood story. His young friend Joe asked his mom what was for dinner, she replied with Sloppy Joe’s. Joe’s brother John laughed and Joe screamed well I want Sloppy John’s. I know hilarious right. As an 8-year-old though I cracked up every time he told us. Maybe one day I will torture my kids with this lame joke 😉

We still love Sloppy Joe’s in my house and this weekend for dinner I served it a little differently with this Sloppy Joe French Bread Pizza.

Making  Sloppy Joe Mix:

One: In a large pan cook a pound and a half of ground beef. Once cooked drain the fat and set aside. In the same pan add chopped green peppers, onions, and allow to cook for 1-2 minutes then add minced garlic. Cook for one more minute.

Two: Add your ground beef back to the pan. Along with tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning salt. Allow cooking on low for 10-15 minutes until sloppy joe mix has thickened.

 Making the pizza:

Three: Preheat oven and then prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Four: Slice french bread down the middle. Spoon on sloppy joe mix and top with shredded cheese.

Five: Place on a baking sheet and bake until cheese is melted.
