This Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken version makes it even easier. Just toss everything in the crockpot and let it work its magic! The chicken turns out tender and flavorful, and the creamy Parmesan sauce is perfect spooned over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.

It’s an easy weeknight dinner that tastes like something special.

How to make this Slow Cooker Marry Me Chicken:

Start by cooking your chicken breasts in a skillet with the butter and oil. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, before adding to the slow cooker. Put your chicken in the slow cooker first, then add the seasoning on top of the chicken. Next, add in all the remaining ingredients. Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Serve and enjoy.

Ingredient Notes:

  • Chicken Breast – 3 or 4 chicken breasts.
  • Salt and Pepper – to taste.
  • Olive Oil
  • Butter
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Garlic – minced
  • Sundried Tomatoes – roughly chopped.
  • Chicken Broth – I used a low sodium chicken broth.
  • Cornstarch – used to make the slurry.
  • Water
  • Heavy Cream
  • Parmesan – freshly grated parmesan cheese is the best.
  • Fresh Basil – chopped.

Directions:

Step One – Sprinkle chicken, on all sides, with salt and pepper to taste.

Recipe Tip

If the chicken breasts are very large you may need to cut them in half lengthwise, making them into cutlets.

Step Two – Melt butter and olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Brown the chicken for about two minutes on each side then place chicken into the slow cooker.

Step Three – Sprinkle Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes over chicken in the slow cooker. Add garlic, sundried tomatoes, and broth to the top of your chicken.

Step Four – Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1.5 to 2 hours

Step Five – Just before cooking is complete, remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Stir the water and cornstarch together to make a slurry, then add it to the slow cooker along with the heavy cream and parmesan cheese; stir until well mixed.

Recipe Tip

Use freshly grated parmesan for quicker better melting.

Step Six – Return the chicken to the slow cooker and cook on high for another 10-15 minutes.

Step Seven – When the sauce is thickened, sprinkle with basil (optional) and serve.

Ingredients 

  • 2 Pounds Chicken Breast, 3-4 pieces
  • Salt and Pepper, to Taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

  • 3 Teaspoons Garlic, Minced
