  1. My kids love sandwiches. So I take this casserole and put it inside a roll with some mash potatoes and they absolutely love it! As for me this casserole hits the spot! Thank you for providing this recipe!

  2. This was my first Pinterest recipe I ever tried and it was delicious! It’s in the oven right now. This will be my 3rd time making it and it’s always a hit. Thank you for this!!!

  3. I am planning this recipe for tonight. If I add noodles to the recipe, would you recommend increasing the amount of sour cream or adding in some chicken broth so it isn’t too dry?

    1. If you add noodles to the casserole dish I would add more sour cream or cream of chicken soup to help it not dry out. Or I would make the pasta on the side and when you serve just add the pasta on the bottom and spoon the casserole on top.

  4. This is our favorite casserole too but we add a tablespoon of poppy seeds to the crackers and melted butter. So yummy!! It gives it just a little different twist that is so good. Give it a try, you wind be disappointed.

    1. That does sound good! I have been enjoying Everything Bagel Seasoning, so that might be a good option as well!

  5. I tinkered around with this recipe, but used it as a guideline. I used 4oz cream cheese instead of sour cream, added some pearl onions and about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Also added some heavy whipping cream for moisture, and added crushed french fried onions to the cracker topping. Kept the same spices and followed the cooking instructions as written. Saved some time and trouble by using a bag of Trader Joe’s grilled chicken strips, great for casseroles; you can’t tell the difference. It turned out great and my husband is already asking for it again. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

  6. I loved this recipe and would like to take some to my sister having having her baby. How much would you add if it was frozen? Or what would be the best way to thaw it?

    1. I would do the same recipe for frozen. I would thaw it in the frig for a few hours. You would be able to heat this in the oven directly though.

  7. I had gotten this recipe from a friend long ago. The difference was using browned chicken tenders. I love the comments with their variations. I always make a new recipe exactly as given the first time, then make it ‘mine’ with variations..

    Great comments!!

  8. Could you use the chicken stock from the make ahead crock pot chicken recipe for other recipes? It’s been cooking with the chicken for 4-5 hours.
