This recipe is the perfect side dish for the summer and the perfect way to dress up a can of beans. Although these Brown Sugar Baked Beans are only semi-homemade they are still the start of every BBQ I serve them at.

Semi-Homemade:

Not every great recipe has to make from scratch. These Brown Sugar Baked Beans are made with canned beans but dress-up and made into the best-baked beans ever. I used pork and beans and added in brown sugar and bacon for the perfect flavors.

How to make Brown Sugar Baked Beans:

Step one: To start preheat your oven and then prepare a 9×13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Step two: Over medium heat sautee green bell pepper and white onion.

  • Tip: Sautee your veggies are tender but they will be baking later so make sure to not overcook here.

Step three: Next you can add these sauteed veggies to the prepared casserole dish along with all remaining ingredients. Mix together well then cover with foil.

Step four: Bake for 60-65 minutes. Serve and enjoy.

Serving Options:

No matter what you will be serving at a summer potluck these baked beans will be perfect. A few of my favorites include my grilled chicken breast, slow cooker pulled pork, or grilled BBQ chicken kabobs.
