How to make Million Dollar Chicken Casserole:
Start by mixing together all the wet ingredients and seasoning together. Mix in the chicken next. Spread the casserole mixture on the bottom of your casserole dish. Spread the bacon crumbles on top of the casserole mixture. Crumble the Ritz Crackers and mix them with melted butter to make the topping. Spread the cracker topping across the whole casserole. Bake and enoy!

Ingredient Notes:
- Cream of Chicken Soup – one can of the soup.
- Cottage Cheese – I used low-fat cottage cheese.
- Cream Cheese – softened to room temperature.
- Sour Cream
- Cajun Seasoning – use your favorite brand of Cajun Seasoning.
- Onion Powder
- Rotisserie Chicken – one of the key ingredients to this. The Rotisserie Chicken has great flavor and makes it easy.
- Bacon Bits – fresh Bacon is best, so use this my Perfect Bacon recipe.
- Ritz Crackers – crushed for the topping.
- Butter – melted.

Directions:
Step One – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13 casserole pan.
Step Two – Mix together the chicken soup, cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and seasonings. Once combined, stir in the chicken and set aside.
Recipe Tip
To save time use a rotisserie chicken or cook your chicken in the slow cooker using my all-purpose chicken recipe.

Step Three – Next, in a small bowl stir together the cracker crumbs and butter, until the crumbs are completely covered.

Step Four – Pour the chicken mixture into the casserole pan and spread evenly.
Step Five – Sprinkle the bacon bits over the top.

Step Five continued – Sprinkle over the cracker mixture on top.

Step Six – Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are slightly browned and the middle is warm and bubbly.

Can you make this recipe ahead of time?
This recipe can easily be made ahead of time and then refrigerated or frozen. Follow all the directions except adding the Ritz Cracker topping. Make it in a casserole dish that has a sealable lid so you can freeze it or keep it in the refrigerator.
If cooking from the refrigerator, bring to room temp before baking. If cooking from frozen, thaw the casserole overnight in the fridge then cover with foil and bake.

Should I use a Rotisserie Chicken in this recipe?
Yes, you definitely can use a rotisserie chicken. It honestly will cut down on your prep time by a lot. This will be a quicker way to have your cooked chicken and then shred it.
One thing to remember is to not get a flavored or seasoned rotisserie chicken. You want to just by a basic rotisserie chicken for this recipe.
