This Million Dollar Chicken Casserole really tastes like a million bucks! It is rich, creamy and your whole family will love it! This casserole gets its name because it really tastes like it cost a million bucks to make.

How to make Million Dollar Chicken Casserole:

Start by mixing together all the wet ingredients and seasoning together. Mix in the chicken next. Spread the casserole mixture on the bottom of your casserole dish. Spread the bacon crumbles on top of the casserole mixture. Crumble the Ritz Crackers and mix them with melted butter to make the topping. Spread the cracker topping across the whole casserole. Bake and enoy!

Ingredient Notes:

  • Cream of Chicken Soup – one can of the soup.
  • Cottage Cheese – I used low-fat cottage cheese.
  • Cream Cheese – softened to room temperature.
  • Sour Cream
  • Cajun Seasoning – use your favorite brand of Cajun Seasoning.
  • Onion Powder
  • Rotisserie Chicken – one of the key ingredients to this. The Rotisserie Chicken has great flavor and makes it easy.
  • Bacon Bits – fresh Bacon is best, so use this my Perfect Bacon recipe.
  • Ritz Crackers – crushed for the topping.
  • Butter – melted.

Can you make this recipe ahead of time?

This recipe can easily be made ahead of time and then refrigerated or frozen. Follow all the directions except adding the Ritz Cracker topping. Make it in a casserole dish that has a sealable lid so you can freeze it or keep it in the refrigerator.

If cooking from the refrigerator, bring to room temp before baking. If cooking from frozen, thaw the casserole overnight in the fridge then cover with foil and bake.

Should I use a Rotisserie Chicken in this recipe?

Yes, you definitely can use a rotisserie chicken. It honestly will cut down on your prep time by a lot. This will be a quicker way to have your cooked chicken and then shred it.

One thing to remember is to not get a flavored or seasoned rotisserie chicken. You want to just by a basic rotisserie chicken for this recipe.
