How much is in a serving? I am counting calories and need to know what a serving would. Thank you
Hi Vicki, the serving is 1 5th of the recipe. Sorry but I don’t have an exact weight on it.
I have an old family recipe similar to this. Mine has added diced onion, celery and pimento. Gives a nice flare to it. It’s called Chicken crunch casserole. I usually leave out the celery, as my kids don’t like it too much, but it yummy any of these ways.. You could use cream of celery to get the flavor there. But I love the added onion and pimento, more depth to the flavors.
That sounds so good! My husband would love the pimento! I might have to try this one night!
What can be a substitute for sour cream??
I have not tried it but I know some people will use plain greek yogurt in the place of sour cream. It would change the taste of this recipe but should have the same texture.
What size dish did you use
I used a 9×13
I have a recipe very close to this one. Mine calls for 2 sleeves of Ritz and 8 Tbsp butter. Crush 1 sleeve Ritz and put in bottom of pan and pour 4 Tbsp melted butter over them. Continue on the way you do. I serve this for any function I can, holidays, covered dish meals, or just because. There’s never any left😀
Yes! Never any leftovers!!
I used cream of bacon soup and bacon flavored ritz crackers . Delicious
That sounds amazing!! My son loves bacon and I will have to try it this way!
Do you think if I was adding broccoli, any of the other ingredient amounts would need to change?
Thanks!
Hi Mae,
I think if you add more then a cup I would add another can of cream of chicken.
This is so good!! The serving size is for 5 people but me and my fiancé ate the entire thing!! We couldn’t stop! This recipe is a keeper for sure. Thank you for sharing it!
Awesome! So glad y’all like it!
My whole family loves this! I served it over white rice and it mixed well 🙂
Yah! So glad you all liked the recipe so well! It’s my kids favorite.
My husband asks for this all the time! So easy and so good. Even my 2 year old eats it and thats saying something. Haha
That is awesome Marie!! So happy to hear that!
