This Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage is an entire meal in your slow cooker. I added carrots, potatoes, and cabbage to all cook together. It’s simple to make and has so much flavor in every bite.
Slow cooker dinners are my favorite! I love when I can toss everything into the slow cooker and hours later my entire dinner is done without much more work. This Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage has your meat, potatoes, and veggies all cooked together. The perfect flavor and a recipe that I think you are going to love. When you are done with this one make sure to take a look at some of my other entire dinner slow cooker recipes.
How to make Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage:
Step 1:
Start by placing your corned beef in your slow cooker and season with the spice packet. Your corned beef should come with a spice packet to use.
Step 2:
Once your corned beef is in your slow cooker you place your carrots, yellow potatoes, and cabbage on top of it. I always place my cabbage in last at the very top. Since the cabbage will cook the fastest. This way it does not overcook or burn.
Step 3:
Next, add in beef broth.
Step 4:
Lastly, place your minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper on top of the cabbage. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or until beef is cooked through. Slice and serve.
How can you tell corned beef is done?
It can be hard to tell when your corned beef is done since it will usually still be pink inside even when fully cooked. The best method is to use a meat thermometer and make sure your meat is at least 145 degrees F but I usually aim for closer to 160 degrees F.

Hi Jennie, this is my first visit to your site, I found you on #handfulofeverything. I love corned beef and you have cooked yours as I would. I love cooking the potato & carrot in the same pot as the flavour is so intense. I will be back!
We always have corned beef & cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day too, but I’ve never made it in the crockpot before. What a fantastic idea!! Thanks for sharing your recipe, Jennie! Pinned ๐
I absolutely love this meal! We used to eat it every St. Patrick’s Day when I was growing up [or something close to it depending on where we lived]. It’s oh so good! I want so badly to make it for St. Patrick’s Day, but it’s not a meal that my hubby is too keen about eating … so we don’t. But oh, how this makes me want to make it even more! Enjoy!
Corned beef is one of my husbands very, very favorite dishes! We always have for St. Patricks day but we also have it probably once a month at our house. The leftovers make super breakfast tacos!
Funny, I was JUST looking for a corned beef and cabbage recipe last night! Thanks for this. I’ll try this one out. But what do you do with the onion? I don’t see you using it? Thanks!
I’m sorry Sarah I forgot to put that in the directions! They are sliced up and mixed in with the cabbage! I placed them in at the same time as potatoes so they had a lot of cooking time but when serving that mix in with your cabbage! I’ll update the recipe =)
