Thanks! I mixed some Cortland, Empire & Delicious. I’m heating the slow cooker now. Hoping for a good result! 🙂 Can you make applesauce this way, too?
You could but I have not tried! It would be a thicker sauce with the cornstarch. If you are making a batch just for apple sauce I would cornstarch and butter and then mash the apples once cooked. Let me know how it turns out!!
I just went apple picking and don’t have Gala, but got a lot of Empire & Delicious. Some Jonagold and Cortland. Any thoughts on these? Thanks!
I think the empire or Cortland would work perfect. If you use Delicious or Jonagold maybe cook less time since those are softer apples.
Thank you so much for this recipe!! It is one of my favorite Honey Baked Ham store. I will be making them soon! Again thank you!
I’m so glad you liked it Monica!
Just made this. super easy. I also added some spiced rum to it.
Yum! What a great idea =)
Could I can this?
‘m sure you could I just have not personal done it. Thats a great idea though, I may have to try!
Can you use this as Apple pie filling?
Yes that would work great! I would dice the apples a little smaller or thinner and would probably add a little more sugar but even without I think it would work great.
Can you freeze them
Yeah! Allow them to cool and place in a freezer bag. Once you are ready to eat them you can let the m thaw or just toss them in the slow cooker again! Hope you enjoy the recipe Lisa =)
How many servings is this?
