These Baked BBQ Chicken Tenders are my kid’s favorite dinner dish! Seasoned, baked, and brushed with BBQ sauce. The perfect family-friendly dinner idea.
I love BBQ chicken! It’s a food that all my family loves and we serve it in so many ways. I would say that it is on our table in some form at least once a week!
Some of our favorites include Baked BBQ Chicken Breast and Baked BBQ Chicken Drumsticks that taste like they came right off the grill. These tenders though are my kid’s favorite.
If you love bbq chicken as much as my family does then make sure to check out the rest of my recipes! I think you will love them.
Baked BBQ Chicken Tenders Ingredients:

- Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Salt – add more or less to taste.
- BBQ Sauce – use your favorite brand.
How to make Baked BBQ Chicken Tenders:
Step one: Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F. Then prepare a 2 quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
Step two: Place chicken tenders in a large baggy with oil and massage into chicken. Add in paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Massage chicken tenders again and dump everything into a casserole dish.
Step three: Bake for 20 minutes then remove the chicken tenders and brush with bbq sauce. Place back into the oven for 10 -15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
Step four: Remove from oven and let rest before serving.
Side Dish Options:
I love serving these on top of a salad, with a side salad, veggies, or potatoes. Here are a few more of my favorite

These chicken tenders sound great. We make in the summer all the time on the grill. Living in the northeast is tough to grill out during the winter.
Do you brush bbq sauce on both sides or just one side of the chicken?
Thanks so much!!
I brush it on both sides of the chicken. My husband loves them saucy, haha.
I stumbled across this recipe. Made it tonight. It was a hit with my family. They loved it and absolutely no leftovers. Which is great! Thank you for sharing.
So glad you and your family loved this recipe!
I made this recipe yesterday. One of my timer’s quit on me the one for my chicken of course. I cooked it in a cake pan. My husband said I shouldn’t have put it in a cake pan. Should I put this in a baking dish instead? It was a little dry in spots. I added water and more BBQ so hopefully it would soak up more moisture.
Finally a chicken tender recipe that we love!! The spices and cooking method was the trick. Thanks so much!
Should I cook for less time if they come out a bit chewy? I’m also not cooking as much chicken..
Hi Nina, sorry they turned out that way but yes less chicken would need less cooking time so they don’t overcook. And if using less I would suggest to only cook on low.
This recipe is absolutely delicious! Even our picky kids rated it a 9/10! Thank you for sharing this. How do you recommend reheating leftovers?
I love simple and fast. They are tender when they come out of the oven. Husband and grandson love these!!
Oh my my! I made the bbq chicken tenders tonight and they truly were the most moist and flavorful I’ve ever eaten! This will definitely be on my weekly rotation for the next FOREVER! Thank you for your recipe! I’ve regained my confidence in cooking!!!
Thank you!! I am so glad you liked it!
This was super good. I used smoked paprika. Yummiest.
Best home prepared BBQ chicken ever made in my kitchen which is a low bar but this jumped way over the bar. Flavor was excellent and vibrant, and the chicken was moist, not dry. Yum.
Thank you so much!
I love it!!!! Simple, quick and delious. As a busy Grammy helping my daughter, this is perfect.
