The recipe says to dice the apples, but the picture shows sliced apples? I prefer the sliced ones for presentation! Would they cook for the same length of time?
Hi Mary, sorry for the confusion the recipe is for sliced apples!
These are in the crock now but is the temp to be on high or low ???????
Hi Linda, this recipe is cooked on high.
It’s in my old crockpot now. But is it supposed to be on high or low……
Hi Linda, I cooked this on high. Hope you enjoy the recipe!
Do you cook on high or low for two hours?
Hi Marilyn, for this recipe I cooked them for 2 hours on high. Hope you enjoy them!
What apples do you use ?
I prefer to use granny smith but whatever apple you prefer will work!
I have an odd question, in step one you say to turn on the crock pot for two hours, is that with nothing in it? Because than you have it as cook time only 2 hours.
Thanks
Charna
Hi Charna, sorry for the confusion. I said to place your settings to two hours (so it turns off after) but I see how that is confusion and will update the wording! Thanks so much for letting me know and I hope you enjoy the recipe.
Do you think they would freeze well?
Hi Ashley, I have yet to freeze these but yes I do think they would freeze well and you can heat them back up in the slow cooker.
These are a bit in my house, but if course when your raised on them! 😀 My grandma made the best back in the day. I make these as soon as Apple season begins. Fresh picked from the tree is the best! Great recipe. 👍
So happy to hear that Debby!
Can you can and water bath these as I have a lot of apples
Hi Tammy, I have not tried canning these recipes but I am sure that they would well for it. Let me know how it turns out and I hope you enjoy it.
So I leave the crockpot on for 2 hours with nothing in it before adding the apples?
No just turn the settings to cook for 2 hours. If your crockpot doesn’t have an option to put in a time when it will go off then a timer would work.
