Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Every year the weekend after Thanksgiving we have our putting up the Christmas tree night. Since the boys are still to little to help we usually put them to bed and then spend the night baking cookies putting up the tree and watching a fun Christmas movie. Since we have been married Chad and I have had Thanksgiving at our house, but this year we are heading to my parents house for Thanksgiving and we decided to put up the tree early. Our cookie of choice this year were these delicious peanut butter cup cookies. If you need a holiday cookie idea these need to be on your list, they are amazing!
I made the actual cookie a peanut butter cookie and used Skippy Natural with honey.

5 Ways to Share a Smile This Holiday Season

Tis' the season for giving!
I think it is important for us to teach our children about giving and taking care of others. This is the perfect time of year to get started and teach our children about giving because there are so many opportunities. I wanted to share with you some ideas on how you and your toddler can give back this year.

Perfect Holiday Side Dishes

This year we will be heading to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner and I am off cooking and hosting duty. I do have Christmas dinner hosting responsibility this year, and I have already started planning out menu. The menu is already getting long and I am getting really excited about all the cooking and decorating. I only have 4 adults and 2 kids to feed so I probably don't need as much food as I am planning but Christmas leftovers are the best! I found some perfectly delicious side recipes to go with that big ham or juicy turkey to share with you!
What is your favorite side dish for the holidays? Leave a comment and share!

The BEST Green Bean Recipe

I love this recipe for green beans. I am a fan of green beans already, but when you top them with bacon it takes it to a whole new level. I think that it is safe to say about any food you top bacon with. Whenever I make a late night run to the grocery store I usually grab a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I hate grocery shopping, but knowing I don't have to cook when I get home makes the trip a little easier! I  put the green beans on low heat and let them cook, tossed a salad, and dinner was ready.

Color Match Game - Turkey Feathers

We turned learning our colors into a festive Thanksgiving game. I made this color match game with turkey feathers for Max and he loved playing with it. Since Max is non-verbal I love playing games where he can show me how much he knows. The craft was VERY easy to make and your toddler will really enjoy it. Since Max is still learning colors we limit to just three, but if your child is older than you can add more colors and make it more challenging for them.

The BEST Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie

Last week I made these wonderful peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for an ornament exchange I attended. Have you all heard of the Jesse tree? It's pretty neat so if not, go look it up! If you follow me on Instagram @thediaryofarealhousewife  then you probably saw my picture of all the ornaments. The Jesse tree are ornaments that have different Bible verses/stories to go along with them. You have 25 ornaments and everyday of December you can put one on the tree and tell the Bible story. I will get mine all set up and post the ornaments so you can all see. I brought along these cookies, because every gathering with a bunch of women just needs some good baked goods! This is my favorite peanut butter cookie recipe, I use Skippy Peanut Butter with Honey and loaded it up with chocolate chips!
