My family loved this Ground Turkey Stroganoff! I switched out the classic ground beef and use ground turkey instead. It tasted great and was so easy to make. If you want to make this with ground beef I have a very similar Ground Beef Stroganoff recipe that my kids also love.

    Ground Turkey Stroganoff

My boys have completely opposite tastes when it comes to food! My oldest loves noodles and the youngest like the meat. This Ground Turkey Stroganoff recipe worked perfectly for them! This is a super simple stroganoff recipe, of course! You know easy recipes are my favorite! For just personal preference I did not use fresh mushrooms in my stroganoff recipe. It just makes it a more kid-friendly meal! Instead, I used cream of mushroom soup and the kids didn't even notice the mushrooms at all! If you love cooking with ground turkey then check out my other ground turkey recipes.

    Making Ground Turkey Stroganoff:

Step one: Start by cooking and crumbling out ground beef. When your ground turkey is almost cooked then add in your diced onion and minced garlic. Once the meat is fully cooked you want to drain the fat and set the turkey aside.
Step two: Use the same skillet but without the turkey in it to make a roux. Start by melting butter and then once melted add in flour and whisked on low heat. Once ingredients are well combined and a thick paste form slowly add in beef broth. I usually add about ¼ a cup at a time making sure that it is well combined before adding more. Make sure you are whisking continuously until you have no lumps.
Step three: This is the time that I add in cream of mushroom soup and the cooked ground turkey with garlic and onions back into the pan. and mix well until heated throughout.
Step four: Remove from heat and add in sour cream then season with salt and pepper. You can add in more or less salt and pepper to taste.

Step five: Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain then serve with the ground turkey stroganoff. This is optional and done to look pretty but I served mine with fresh parsley for garnish.

    Egg Noodle Substitute:

For this recipe, we love to serve it with egg noodles but you could also serve this with spaghetti or even rice.
